When most people think of a leveling system they think of a simple spacer kit that is installed on top of your factory coil springs to increase the front-end ride height. Well, that's not this! In true Carli Suspension form, this is a fully engineered system to increase the ride comfort and suspension performance of your Ram 2500 designed for those who aren't looking for one of Carli's complete suspension systems. And no, Carli didn't just take the coil springs from their other systems and a kit, the coil springs featured in this Leveling Kit were built specifically for this system. This system utilizes the Carli SPEC 2.0 Remote Reservoir shock and can take your street truck to a rig that you won't throwing around in the dirt in comfort.

The Backcountry 2.0 system is designed for people seeking the best ride on and off-road quality on a budget; basically, the Leveling Kit is for those who want to have a little dirt-road fun in their 8,500lb truck without losing the on-road ride quality or usability for which the truck was designed. You’re no longer limited to the highway while gravel roads become uninteresting as you can drive them at speed with one hand on the wheel. The 2.5” lift height doesn’t require the front or rear geometry correction of the Carli 3” Systems.

CARLI SPEC 2.0 REMOTE RESERVOIR SHOCKS

Utilizing Carli SPEC 2.0″ Diameter, Remote Reservoir shocks, Carli has developed a tune that delivers all-around comfort and ride quality designed for on-road, in-town, highway, towing/hauling as well as slow to mid-speed off-road use. The remote reservoir Carli SPEC 2.0 boasts 6063 Aluminum construction, an anodized body for corrosion resistance, a 5/8″ hardened steel chrome plated shaft, full serviceability & rebuildability, and is built with 1-piece bushings in the 6061 billet rod-ends. These shocks are spec’d with a premium 5WT oil to balance lubricity, consistent damping, and the widest available range in temperature variation. Carli backs these with a 1-year warranty, serviced by Carli.

The rear shocks are also included with this system and have been custom-tuned to maximize the ride quality for the factory rear coil springs. As the rear springs remain unmodified, load capacity is maintained while predictability is improved. For those who aren’t looking for a massive increase in travel or big shocks but still desire a level stance and improved ride quality and handling characteristics, on and off-road, this is the perfect kit.

CARLI RECOMMENDATIONS

The front axle will be slightly pulled to the Driver’s side following the installation of the lift; this will be corrected with the Adjustable Track Bar. Further, ride quality can be substantially increased with the addition of our Torsion Sway Bar. We recommend a 35” tire on a wheel that’s no more than 9” wide with 5.5”-6” backspace. An 18” diameter wheel will be best to ensure optimal ride quality (more rubber = better small bump compliance) and an unloaded tire pressure of 45F/40R is recommended. The addition of a Carli Low-Mount Steering Stabilizer is recommended for any tire over factory size.

IMPORTANT NOTES

 

  • This system will NOT be upgradeable to any other Carli Suspension Systems. It's designed to be a solution for customers wanting a quality system with minimal lift and part inclusion. Carli recommends slight eccentric bolt compensation to correct caster after the lift as there are no Radius Arm Drops. For this reason, customers may experience a slight bow in the coil spring. Carli did not experience a coil bow in any of the test trucks, but it's possible at the 2.5" lift height without a Radius Arm Drop Bracket.
  • This system is not intended for use on models with factory rear air ride. While the kit will physically bolt up, due to the shorter rear factory ride height of the air ride equipped Ram 2500's, installation of this kit will result in a nose high stance.

OPTIONAL SWAY BAR

The Leveling System will ride best with the Torsion Sway Bar. This upgraded sway bar lightens the spring rate of the front sway bar providing an independent suspension-like feel. Maintaining the factory sway bar is only recommended for customers with snow-plows, in-bed campers or who are constantly hauling to the capacity of the truck.

  • The best bang for the buck upgrade for ride quality
  • Allows front suspension to move freely without giving up control
  • Requires removal of electronic sway bar on Power Wagons
  • Compatible with 0"-4" front lift
  • Torsion Bar may be black or silver zinc. Depends on availability. Not requestable

OPTIONAL LOW-MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER

Bolt in steering stabilizer replacing the OEM unit in the factory location. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the left-hand pull inherent to tires like Nitto Trail Grapplers. Run in conjunction with the Carli High Mount for the ultimate Dual, Opposing Steering Stabilizer combination that's infinitely adjustable.

LOW-MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Direct bolt-in replacement
  • Corrects left tire pull, adjustable
  • Inside the Carli Stainless Stabilizer

OPTIONAL HIGH-MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER

Bolt in compliment to the Carli Low-Mount Steering Stabilizer. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the right-hand pull inherent to tires like Toyo Mud Terrains. This is NOT a primary stabilizer and MUST be run with either a Carli or OEM lower stabilizer in the factory location.

OPTIONAL FABRICATED RADIUS ARMS

Icing on the cake, these arms add Limit Strap Protection for your Front Shocks, 1/4" Boxed Steel Construction, Serviceable 17-4 Stainless Spherical Bearings and maintain the factory caster adjustment.

OPTIONAL RADIUS ARM DROP BRACKETS

The Carli Leveling Systems do NOT include radius arm drop brackets as the 2.5" lift height can still achieve proper caster by maxing the factory caster adjustment. Adding these Radius Arm Drop Brackets will lower the arm pivot point to account for the lift height opening the full range of caster adjustment and correcting spring pressures to ensure NO bowing of the coil spring. Although these are not required, they are recommended.
